Daniel Orton injures knee — again – this time in D-League stint

The Orlando Magic send Daniel Orton, their first-round draft pick out of Kentucky, down to the D-League to let him rehabilitate his knee and start to mold the raw lump of potential into something the Magic could use.

Except two games in to his D-League stint in New Mexico, he injured his left knee, according to FanHouse. That is the same knee he had surgery on this summer.

The severity of the injury is not known, he will get an MRI in Orlando. However, any injury to a surgically repaired knee is not good news (and the fact they are flying him back to Orlando suggests it’s something more serious).

Orton had a dozen points and 13 rebounds in his D-League debut Friday night. The Magic drafted Orton at No. 29 on potential — he did not play a lot at Kentucky, not like the school’s big names like John Wall or DeMarcus Cousins. But the Magic could be patient, they have a pretty good player at center right now.

That wait may be longer than expected.

Against the Pacers last night, James Ennis missed all three of his 3-point attempts… that counted. And he makes this one after fouling out?

Mike Conley more than picked up the slack to lead the Grizzlies to victory.

The Pelicans are effectively out of the playoff race, but Dante Cunningham and Anthony Davis are still competing — even if it looks a little silly.

That tone and a big game from DeMarcus Cousins (29 points, 16 rebounds, six assists) led to a 121-118 win over the Mavericks.

Goran Dragic is very good at alley-oops.

Too good.

With a “shot” like that falling, the Heat trounced the Knicks, 105-88.

Hawks’ Tim Hardaway Jr. kneed in the groin while defending 76ers (video)

Since trading for him, the Hawks have gotten Tim Hardaway Jr. to buy in defensively.

After this help defense on 76ers center Richaun Holmes cost him dearly, I wouldn’t blame Hardaway if he gave up on the endeavor entirely.
